Description

This ICS Canada certified ICS I-300 course is designed to enable personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event using the Incident Command System in supervisory roles during expanding, escalating or Type 3 Incidents. 

 

Upon successful completion of I-300, participants will be able to demonstrate intermediate knowledge of ICS as described in the following topics and learning outcomes:

  • ICS Fundamentals Review: ICS fundamentals and organization, reporting and working relationships, information flow, and transfer of command.
  • Unified Command: features, organization and functions in a multi-jurisdictional or multiagency incident. Roles and reporting relationships under a unified command in single and multi-jurisdictional incidents.
  • Incident Management Operations: methods and tools used to assess incident/ event complexity and transferring and assuming incident command. The key principles of incident management operations and additional training on developing incident objectives, strategies, and tactics.
  • Resource Management: basic principles, steps of resource management and use of appropriate ICS forms.
  • Planning Process: planning for incidents or events in reference to the major planning steps, such as logistical concerns, cost-benefit analysis, situational understanding, plan development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demobilization, Transfer of Command: planning, impact of agency specific policies, procedures, and agreements, and terminating command. 

To meet ICS Canada's requirements, this ICS 300 course is based around three 8 hour days. To measure how well you have received and retained this information, there will be an examination covering all the course material. The exam must be completed in one sitting. 

 

An ICS Canada certified ICS 200 course is a pre-requisite for taking this ICS 300 course. ICS Canada requires six months between the completion of ICS 200 and attending ICS 300. 

 

This ICS 300 course is a pre-requisite for ICS 400 and above.

The following cancellation / rescheduling fees apply to this course:

  1. 10% of the course fee for any cancellations/reschedules 31-60 days prior to the confirmed course date
  2. 20% of the course fee for any cancellations/reschedules 2 weeks to 30 days prior to the confirmed course date
  3. 50% of the course fee for any cancellations/reschedules less than 2 weeks to the confirmed course date
